News Letter

We are going to have to talk about the news Letter. The format I receive the news letter in is VERY large. The July news letter was 10 MB and I maxed out our account and could not get the last page posted We only have 1-2 people looking at the news Letter, most everyone in the club has it e-mailed to them

How would everyone be open to the ideal to drop the news letter from the web site and replace it with something else or pick something else on the web site to cut to free up disk space We do not have enough traffic to pay for more disk space

HMMM... we should bring this up at the next meeting Big C. If I forget, please raise your hand so we can bring it to the floor.

Well you will notice the links page on the main web site is missing. We used up all of our disk space and I had to take the page down to keep the site up and running while I did some house keeping to free up disk space

Well I have managed to free up 60% of our disk space and keep the news letter intact


Now that being said, I am going to ask this group what they would like to see back on the front end where the links page was?? To ask this question at the meeting would get me 12 different answers from guys that never have even been to the website

So for the guys that use the site, here is your chance to get what you want

Can the newsletter pages be posted in photobucket and linked o the forum like we do with the other pics? How large are the scanned images and what format are they? I can host anythign on photobucket. Maybe for the links we can have a locked/pinned thread with the links in the forum also. Just some ideas...

The news letter is in jpeg format and can be hosted in photo bucket / web shots. Was going to move it to the fourm when I set it up, but thought members wanted it on the front end.

Each page 1.2-2 megs

The link pages are no problem, just the last news letter was around 12 megs on top of everything else we had on the site.

OK, I am pretty sure we can resize and host it, but they should be able to see it on the forum just as easy since they wouldn't even have to log in to see it.

I do not think it will make a difference where it's located. Only have about 2-3 people looking at the news letter. And as long as they are logged into the news letter page, only about 1 is taking the time to read it
